MVS Associate Consultant Profile:
Jennifer Nurse
Background:
Jennifer joined MVS with a research background in
the strategic allocation of fiscal and human resources for economic
growth. She has spent time in Latin America, Southern Africa, the
Caribbean and the US aiding in the planning, implementation, and
evaluation of economic and social development ventures. Of note was a
six-month affiliation with the University of Cape Town in South Africa
assessing implications of industrial restructuring and corporate-led
manpower training. Jennifer earned a BA with Honors from Brown University
with dual majors focused on political economics, and an EdM from Harvard
University with a concentration in Administration, Planning and Social
Policy.
Why MVS?
"I joined MVS because I wanted to work for a firm, which dealt with
both established and growing, companies in the consumer products sector
of the economy. I also wanted a job that would allow me to use my research
and analytical skills. I knew that working for a growing firm would
give me the opportunity to interact directly with top management of
emerging companies. My first five months here have allowed me to do
just that, and the intimate team approach has afforded me a tremendous
learning opportunity."
A Typical Day
8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.: Review and incorporate client comments and
edits into a final-stage business plan. This is the last round of

and passed on to a Senior Consultant for final approval.
10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m.: Attend a meeting between a potential MVS client
and an MVS project team (which also includes a Senior Consultant and

overview of the MVS market research methodology and examples of previous
market research projects.
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Review this morning's finalized business plan
with a Senior Consultant and make two small content changes. Then, send
the plan to our printing service.

proposal, for the client we met with this morning and send to an MVS
Partner for approval.

specialty retailers as part of background industry research for a marketing
strategy project.
4:15 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.: Draft a brief progress report on the afternoon's
phone interviews and email it to the client contact.
4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.: Attend an internal brainstorming session, conducted
by a Senior Consultant, in which research goals and strategies are outlined
for a project MVS is conducting for a client in the personal care products
space.

in an internal memo and input the relevant information into the MVS
